Sports: Final CFB Top 10

1. Texas
2. Southern Cal
3. Ohio State
4. Penn State
5. LSU
6. West Virginia
7. Notre Dame
8. Georgia
9. Viriginia Tech
10. Florida

The bowl games sure did shift the rankings around a little bit. It really is shame that there isn't a play off. Texas, Southern Cal, OSU, and PSU were clearly the best teams in the country this year. To see them eliminate each other for the National Championship would have been amazing. LSU is a problematic team, but I'm going to put there loss to Georgia down to playing for eleven straight weeks. If West Vigginia and Georgia were to play again, I'd still pick Georgia to win; however, I can't rank Georgia ahead of a team that just beat them. Yes, Notre Dame lost to Ohio State, but OSU is one of the few teams that could actually contain ND's offense. The What If's: Alabama and Oregon would have easily been on this list if not for their key injuries. Unfortunately ESPN's Rank 'Em fan poll is concerned with the 2006 season, so you're just going to have to take my word for the validity of these rankings. If you're interested in how I ranked the top ten teams for the 2006 season (prior to draft declaration, which makes this even more meaningless than normal), here you go:

1. Ohio State
2. Texas
3. Southern Cal
4. Notre Dame
5. LSU
6. West Viginia
7. Oklahoma
8. Florida
9. Oregon
10. Miami
